The MAT is a high-level mental ability test requiring the solution of problems stated as analogies. Fluency in the English language, a broad knowledge of literature, philosophy, history, science, math, fine arts, and the ability to reason out relationships may contribute to performance on the MAT. There is no foreign-language edition of the MAT. You should check with the graduate department and school in which you are interested to determine if they use the MAT, and what (if any) cutoff scores they use.
Contact the Counseling and Testing Center office (417/836-5116) for registration information regarding computerized MAT tests.
You may print out a copy of our Registration Form, complete it, and mail it to us with your testing fee; then contact our office to select a testing date ffrom the schedule dates below.
