GED TESTING FEES

The GED application fee is $20.00, and is sent with the GED State Application to Jefferson City for authorization.  Our testing fee is also $20.00, and is payable to Missouri State University (cash or money order only).

You must complete the GED demographic form prior to testing.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO DO TO TAKE THE GED TEST AT MISSOURI STATE UNIVERSITY

1) An approved GED authorization form, you receive from the GED office in Jefferson City.

2) The $20.00 testing fee for Missouri State University, cash or money order only (note: this is in addition to the $20.00 you send to Jefferson City with your application).

3) If this is your first attempt at the GED test, you will need a completed Demographic Form, which you will get at the AEL center.

4) You will also need picture identification, either a Missouri Driver's License or a Missouri Non-Driver photo ID.

If you have completed all of the steps listed above, please mail your money order, along with a copy of your application and the number from the lower right front page of the demographic form to our office.  Once we receive your pre-registration information, and the testing fee, you will receive a confirmation letter from us with important information about testing at Missouri State University.  Please mail your registration information, and payment to us at this address:

If you are not successful in passing the new GED test, there is a sixty-day waiting period before you are eligible for re-testing.  You may take the test three times in one calendar year. 

PLEASE BE ADVISED

The Missouri GED® Certificate can be neither earned nor obtained via the Internet or through correspondence programs. The Tests of General Educational Development (GED Tests) developed by the General Educational Development Testing Service of the American Council on Education (GED Testing Service) require extensive preparation and the demonstration of a high level of high school knowledge and academic skills. The GED Tests are administered in Missouri only at Official GED Testing Centers under the direction of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, GED Testing Section. Any other high school equivalency certificate not issued by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education or another jurisdictional GED testing authority may be of dubious value and may not be accepted by employers, colleges, and universities, or the military.
